On pattern structures of the N-soliton solution of the discrete KP equation over a finite field

The existence and properties of coherent pattern in the multisoliton solutions of the dKP equation over a finite field is investigated. To that end, starting with an algebro-geometric construction over a finite field, we derive a "travelling wave" formula for NN-soliton solutions in a finite field. However, despite it having a form similar to its analogue in the complex field case, the finite field solutions produce patterns essentially different from those of classical interacting solitons.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figure

Analytic approach to stochastic cellular automata: exponential and inverse power distributions out of Random Domino Automaton

Inspired by extremely simplified view of the earthquakes we propose the stochastic domino cellular automaton model exhibiting avalanches. From elementary combinatorial arguments we derive a set of nonlinear equations describing the automaton. Exact relations between the average parameters of the model are presented. Depending on imposed triggering, the model reproduces both exponential and inverse power statistics of clusters.Comment: improved, new material added; 9 pages, 3 figures, 2 table

W artykule omówiony został proces określenia parametrów charakteryzujących zderzenie rejestratora katastroficznego z przeszkodą w celu ustalenia zgodności z normą NO-16-A200:2006 i ED-112. Ocenie podlega odporność rejestratora katastroficznego na przeciążenie o wartości 3400 g. Badania zrealizowano z wykorzystaniem działa pneumatycznego DPZ-250.The problem of crash tests for the black box data recorder has been discussed. By performing a sequence of experimental studies parameters of a test have been adjusted and optimized. The test meets requirements of the norm NO-16- A200:2006 and ED-112. The studies were carried out using pneumatic canon DPZ-250. The tests proved resistance of the investigated data recorder to the average overload of 3400g for 3ms

Emission of volatile organic compounds during combustion process in a miniature turbojet engine

Aviation is one of the fastest growing modes of transport. Due to the growing number of flights, the consumption of aviation fuels (mainly jet fuels) keeps increasing. The combustion process in the aircraft engine results in harmful exhaust emissions having an adverse impact on the environment. Alternative fuels based on bio-components and biofuels are a way of reducing the harmful exhaust emissions. Analyses and measurements performed on real aircraft engines are complex and expensive. For this reason, increasingly more research and development projects have been carried out on small-scale engines. This paper presents investigations into volatile organic compound emissions from jet fuel combustion in a miniature turbojet engine. Based on chromatography tests, the compositions of exhaust gases produced by the jet engine fed with various fuels were determined, which in turn led to evaluation of its toxicity and harmfulness. Conventional fossil-based fuel Jet A-1 and a blend of Jet A-1 with 25 vol. % of biobutanol were tested at the same fuel flow rates. The engine working parameters such as, e.g., thrust or emission index have been determined with respect to the type of fuel. The test results have been compared and analyzed

In this paper, the velocity field and turbulence effects that occur inside a crucible of a typical induction furnace were investigated. In the first part of this work, a free surface shape of the liquid metal was measured in a ceramic crucible. Then a numerical model of aluminium melting process was developed. It took into account coupling of electromagnetic and thermofluid fields that was performed using commercial codes. In the next step, the sensitivity analysis of turbulence modelling in the liquid domain was performed. The obtained numerical results were compared with the measurement data. The performed analysis can be treated as a preliminary approach for more complex mathematical modelling for the melting process optimisation in crucible induction furnaces of different types.W tej pracy przeprowadzono analizę pola prędkości i tworzących się wirów w tyglu typowego pieca indukcyjnego. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoli na stworzenie dokładniejszych modeli numerycznych umożliwiających odtworzenie pola prędkości ciekłego metalu i optymalizację procesu topienia w piecach indukcyjnych
